Hawk Creek Canyon drains into the Columbia about 12 miles NW of Davenport. Access via Gunning Road (east of Davenport) N to Hawk Ck Canyon Rd. Area is a mix of dry coniferous forest and open grassland (due perhaps to old burns). Riparian areas along the creek are brushy with aspen, cottonwood, serviceberry and other shrubs.
