Squak Mountain just south of Issaquah is a forested peak rising about 1900' above the town. Habitats include wooded residential areas with a few small ponds and streams, mature 2nd growth coniferous forest (Doug fir, Western red cedar) and mixed forest (conifers plus Red alder and Big-leaf maple). PC, 36-48F, light W breeze. 1/2" new and melting snow above 1500' Parked at Issaquah High School, ran through neighborhood and up direct trail to the summit, then down towards the NW trailhead and back on the Eastside(?) trail, with birding stops.
Bird activity increased as the day warmed up.
