The developed access to Gray's Harbor NWR is on the south shore of Bowerman Basin at the end of the airport road. It consists of a long boardwalk out through willow thickets and alder groves to viewing platforms at the edge of the mudflats. Nearby habitats include the mudflats and the mowed fields around the airport. Birdwatching is best before the incoming tide reaches its height. Sunny, low 60's, light breeze. Tide high and receding. Walked along the road and out around the boardwalk.
