The town of Ocean Shores is situated on a sandy peninsula about eight miles long and two miles wide on the north side of the channel where Gray's Harbor opens into the Pacific Ocean. The west side of the peninsula is a long sandy beach. The town features a golf course and a series of long narrow freshwater lakes; most of the peninsula has been developed for single family residential housing in coniferous forest, shrub and dune grass habitat, depending on proximity to the beach. Sunny, low 70's, light N breeze ABC field trip stop for lunch in the rest area on the south side of Damon Road.
