The Methow River drains the east side of the North Cascades from Lake Chelan to the Canadian border. Habitats include a ribbon of cottonwods along the river, pastures and residences in the valley, meadows with varying mixtures of bitterbrush, sagebrush and serviceberry on the lower hillsides with scattered groves of aspen, ponderosa pine forest and mixed coniferous forest. Sunny, 60F, light breeze I sat on our 2nd floor deck and observed birds. Mt Gardner Inn is half a mile east of downtown Winthrop on the other side of hwy 20 from the river.
Area is residential/light commercial with buildings, scattered trees and shrubbery, lawns, small fields and a narrow strip of Ponderosa Pine and cottonwood along the river. Sightings recorded while birding with BirdLog for Android v1.6
