Highway 410 SE of Enumclaw for about 20 miles runs through clearcut and second-growth forest, predominantly Douglas Fir, in the White River valley. Partly cloudy, 42F, calm. David and I stopped briefly along Hwy 410 at the Hancock Timber access road 10 miles east of Enumclaw.
South side of highway as clearcut about 5 years ago, now 10' tall Doug fir and Alder w/ thimbleberry and other shrubs. North side of highway is young forest, perhaps 20 years old, consisting of 40' tall Doug fir and alder.
