Usk is a small town on the Pend Oreille River north of Newport. The area includes mixed coniferous forest, fields and pastures, marshes and ponds and rural residential habitats. Mostly cloudy, high 50's, light breeze David and I watched the Hendershott's hummingbird feeders at 143 Fifth St for an hour.
Double-crested Cormorant 1   Flew over. Lots more on pilings in the river.
Bald Eagle 1   Adult flew over
Eurasian Collared-Dove 1   Calling nearby.
Black-chinned Hummingbird 2   At least one each male and female. Larger size, longer bill than Calliope.
Calliope Hummingbird 10   Including several males. More aggressive than Black-chinned.
Downy Woodpecker 1   At feeder.
Hammond's Flycatcher 1   Singing in nearby woods
Tree Swallow 3

Yellow Warbler 1   Singing
