Sun Lakes/Dry Falls State Park lies at the head of the Lower Grand Coulee, a flood-scoured area of lakes and marshes surrounded by basalt cliffs, outcrops and talus with shrub-steppe vegetation, narrow riparian corridors and areas of irrigated lawns and shade trees. Hazy sun, 66F, calm David and I drove along Deep Lake Road for 3/4 mile above the turnoff to Dry Falls Lake, stopping in several places to look and listen for birds.
Habitats included shrub-steppe, talus and cliffs, riparian aspen, alder, water birch and other shrubs. Birds not particularly active.
